Car Wash Joondalup: Your Local Spot for Hand Washing That Actually Protects Your Paint

Three months ago, A Joondalup resident brought in her white Toyota. She’d been going to one of those automated places down the road. The scratches were everywhere – you could see them clear as day in the sun. Those rotating brushes had torn up her clearcoat something awful. She asked us straight up: “Why does this keep happening?”

Here’s the thing about car washes around here – most people don’t realize that the brush bristles pick up sand and grit from previous cars. When your vehicle goes through, that same dirty equipment is rubbing all that debris into your paint. It’s like using the same dirty sponge on every car. We see it all the time at our Edgewater location near Joondalup gate.

We started our car wash in Edgewater back in 2018 because we were tired of seeing good cars get ruined by lazy cleaning methods around Joondalup, Hillarys, and Sorrento. Every vehicle that comes through our bay gets hand-washed with fresh water and clean mitts. No recycled water touching your paint. No mystery chemicals that strip your wax off.

Diamond Wash – Sedan/Hatchback

Your car deserves better than a quick spray-down. Our Diamond Wash takes 50 minutes because we actually care about the details. We start with a pre-rinse to get all the loose dirt off first – that’s the stuff that causes scratches if you go straight to washing. Then we hand wash every panel with pH-neutral soap that won’t damage your trim or rubber seals.

The wheels get their own treatment. We use separate brushes for your rims so we’re not spreading brake dust onto your paint. Most places skip this step. We don’t.

Price: $79 for sedans and hatchbacks

Mini Detail – Sedan/Hatchback

The mini detail for sedans and hatchbacks is a step up from the diamond wash. This takes about an hour and 20 minutes. We do everything in the diamond wash, plus we shampoo the carpets and seats, clean the air vents, treat the interior plastics, and apply a wax coat to the exterior.

Good option if your cars looking a bit neglected or you’ve got a special event coming up. Also great if youve got kids who’ve left juice boxes and crumbs everywhere (we dont judge).

Price: $109 for sedans and hatchbacks

Diamond Wash – Wagon/Small SUV

Got a Rav4 or Outback? These vehicles pick up more dirt because of the extra surface area and how close the back end sits to the road. We spend 50 minutes making sure we get into all those hard-to-reach spots – behind your roof rails, under your side mirrors, around your bumper sensors.

Same process as our sedan wash, just adapted for bigger vehicles. Fresh mitts, clean water, proper technique. Your wagon won’t have water spots when we’re done because we actually dry it by hand instead of letting it air dry.

Price: $89 for wagons and small SUVs

Mini Detail – Wagon/Small SUV

The mini detail for wagons and small SUVs runs for about an hour and 20 minutes of work. Full hand wash, interior shampoo, wax coating – the whole deal.

This is what you want before road trips or if you’ve been hauling around camping gear from Yanchep. Gets rid of that weird smell that builds up in family vehicles.

Price: $129 for wagons and small SUVs

Diamond Wash – 4WD/SUV/7-Seater

Landcruisers, Patrols, Prados – these big rigs need extra time and attention. We take 50 minutes because there’s just more car to wash. If you’ve been out to Lancelin or down south on the dirt roads, you know how much red dust gets into every crack and crevice.

We get under your bull bar, clean out your wheel arches, wash your roof (yes, the whole thing – not just the parts we can reach from the ground), and make sure all that salt from Ocean Reef beach trips gets rinsed off properly. Salt eats through paint if you let it sit.

Price: $99 for 4WDs, SUVs, and 7-seaters

Mini Detail – 4WD/SUV/7-Seater

The mini detail for 4WDs, SUVs, and 7-seaters takes an hour and 20 minutes. Perfect for vehicles that do alot of heavy work or family hauling. We shampoo all three rows of seats if youve got them, detail the cargo area, and make the exterior shine.

People usually get this done quarterly or before selling their vehicle. Makes a huge difference in how the car looks and smells.

Price: $149 for 4WDs, SUVs, and 7-seaters

Diamond In & Out – Ram, Chevy, Patrol, Vans

American trucks and large vans are a different beast. Your Ram 1500 has more paint than two Corollas combined. We need 1 hour 30 minutes to do it right. These vehicles can’t fit in most automatic car washes anyway, so hand washing is really your only proper option.

We see a lot of tradies with vans from the Joondalup industrial area. The concrete dust, paint overspray, and general work site grime needs special attention. We use stronger degreasers where needed and make sure we get your headlights clear again.

Price: $149 for Rams, Chevys, Patrols, and large vans

Mini Detail – Ram, Chevy, Patrol, Vans

Our most comprehensive service for large vehicles takes an hour and 30 minutes. Full hand wash, complete interior detail with shampooing, wax protection on the exterior, and we even clean the engine bay if its really dirty.

Why Hand Washing Beats Automatic Every Time

Look, we’re not trying to trash other car washes in Joondalup. But you should know what you’re paying for. Those big automatic places with the spinning brushes? They’re fast and cheap for a reason. The brushes hold onto dirt from previous cars. The water gets recycled through filters, but it’s not fresh. The chemicals are harsh because they need to work fast.

We use fresh tap water for every rinse. Our wash mitts get cleaned between cars. We take our time because rushing causes mistakes, and mistakes cause swirl marks in your paint.

What People Actually Ask Us

“How often should I wash my car?” – Every 2-3 weeks if you park outside. Monthly if you garage it. More often if you live near the beach because of salt air.

“Will hand washing really prevent scratches?” – Yes, if done right. The key is getting all the loose dirt off first with a good rinse. Then using clean tools with plenty of soap for lubrication.

“What about ceramic coating?” – Still needs regular washing. The coating protects your paint, but dirt buildup will make any car look bad. We can wash ceramic-coated cars without damaging the coating.

“Why do automatic washes leave spots?” – Hard water minerals. They spray and let it air dry. We hand dry with microfiber towels, so no spots.

Serving around Joondalup and Nearby Areas

We opened in Edgewater near Joondalup gate in 2018 and people drive from Kinross, Iluka, and Burns Beach because they know we wont damage their paint. Some customers from Ocean Reef come by after beach days to get the salt off their cars before it does damage. If you’re in the northern suburbs, we’re easy to get to.

The industrial area brings us a lot of work vans and utes. Tradies know that keeping equipment clean isn’t just about looks – it’s about maintenance. Salt, chemicals, and grime will eat through metal if you ignore it.

We train everyone the same way – never use pressure on the paint, always use clean water, check the cloths constantly. Sounds obvious but most places dont bother. We charge fair prices, we dont rush, and we treat every car like its our own.

Real Talk About Car Care

Your car is probably one of the most expensive things you own. Most people spend $20,000 to $60,000 on a vehicle, then take it through a $15 automatic wash that scratches the paint. Doesn’t make sense when you think about it.

We charge more because we spend more time. Simple as that. You’re not paying for fancy marketing or a big corporate name. You’re paying for someone who knows what they’re doing to actually care for your car properly.

Bad car washes damage your vehicle slowly. You won’t notice after one wash. But after a year? Your paint will look dull and scratched. The trim will fade. The plastic will dry out. Then you’re looking at paint correction services that cost $500+, or worse, a respray.

We’d rather you spend a bit more now and keep your car looking good for years. That’s better for everyone.

The Joondalup Difference

Summer here is brutal on cars. UV rays fade your paint and dry out your rubber seals. Winter brings rain that spots your windows and carries road grime everywhere. Spring has all that pollen from the bushland. Fall drops leaves that stain your paint if they sit too long when wet.

Every season brings something different. We adjust our washing techniques based on what your car’s been through. Beach trip? Extra attention to undercarriage and wheel wells for salt. Drove through roadwork on Mitchell Freeway? We’ll make sure all that tar and asphalt dust comes off.

Been doing this for seven years now. We’ve washed thousands of cars from Joondalup and learned what works. Come by and see the difference proper hand washing makes. Your car will thank you.
